What courses do we offer?
We offer:
• courses on wildlife and conservation
• bush survival courses
• field or nature guide training - assist with preparation for FGASA level 1 exam
Courses range in length from one to 6 weeks. Whichever one you choose, you will experience the variety of landscapes and conservation approaches found in our region on site, through visits to nearby private reserves (some with "Big 5") and the Addo Elephant National Park.
Who can do our courses?
We welcome a wide range of people at the Conservation Academy.
They include:
• pre-university students (often wanting to study medicine, veterinary science or biology)
• field/nature guides-in-training for FGASA Level 1
• gap year students
• people on career breaks
• adventure seekers
We focus on field work, field observation and interpretation, wildlife research, and wildlife management skills.
Our lectures on wildlife management and conservation are enriched by discussion and by appropriate field exercises on the reserve or in the nearby game reserves.
